The chemical formula of the metal carbonate is MCO3.

Reminder:

Number of moles = Mass / Molar mass

Let y be the relative atomic mass of M.

2 = 295.2 / [ y + ( 12 + 16.0 x 3 ) ]

2 = 295.2 / ( y + 60 )

y = 87.6

Therefore, the relative atomic mass of M is 87.6.

let the atomic mass of metal M be m
the molecular mass of MCO3=12+16*3+m
=m+60
=mass/no of mole
=295.2/2
=147.6
So,m=87.6g/mol

M 係 GROUP 2 即係 2+
即係 MCO3

MOLE = MASS/ MOLAR MASS
2 = 295.2/ ( M+12+16*3)
( M+12+16*3) = 295.2 /2
M+12 =147.6 - 48
M = 99.6 - 12
M = 87.6 g mol-1
