You must be very careful. Almost all places where food is handled the sealers used for concrete must be food safe according to OSHA. The cheapest and easiest thing to do is acid wash the slab, let it dry completely then seal it with a food safe sealer. You will want to keep the label or can in case a health inspector wants to see what you used. i have found that in spite of what the supplier claims that where fork lifts are moving around that epoxy is like a skin that peels off over time causing VERY high costs to remove and repair the slab. Also if you are subject to health inspections and they see epoxy chipping or peeling they may require you to remove it all to prevent contamination of food as epoxys are toxic. But if you acid wash then seal the slab the sealer does not just form a skin that can peel off,it accually penetrates the surface of the concrete, displacing water and stoping it from penetrating the slab and making it easier to clean. Also unlike epoxys, you dont need to remove the old every time you want to reseal just wash ,dry and apply another coat of sealer.Paint is even worse then epoxy as it wears off VERY fast.
