1. your CF card format is not recognizable by Windows.
2. your reader is conflicting with another hardware ...
3. some of the pin of the reader for CF card is twisted or broken ...
To isolate the problem ...
1. try to make sure the CF card is working, by using a USB 2.0 CF reader in your friends computer, and see if you can read the CF card.
2. try to use another CF card, and see if you can see the same problem
3. try to use another TYPE of card, like a SD card in the same reader
and see if it works ...
if it is a reader problem, you can isolate them already, if it is a CF card problem,
or cannot read all CF card, you also isolate it now...
good luck, I think I give you enough cases to try ...
if it is hardware failure, bring it back to factory repair, but if it is just a reader
