The tough guy. Ami has a sharp tongue and a hot temper. Born in Israel, Ami, 33 and single, has been in Miami since the age of 12. Some of his family still lives in Israel, so he rarely sees them — his friends have become his family. He feels that many of today’s artists have no respect for the time-honored traditions of tattoo.

Ami got his first professional tattoo at age 15 – a dragon. Eighteen years later, he still has a passion for ink; his body is a canvas of tattoos. Ami began tattooing at 20 years old. He started by working out of his house and soon became an apprentice, learning the art of his trade.

Ami loves cars, painting and free-style fighting.

Ami James (April 6, 1972), is an Israeli-born American tattoo artist. He is the co-owner of Miami Ink, a tattoo shop located in Miami, Florida and the subject matter of the eponymous TLC reality television program.

James began tattooing at age 20 and is now the co-owner of Miami ink with Chris Nuñez. In addition to his career as a tattoo artist, James served in the Israeli Special Forces and co-owns Deville USA, a clothing design company, along with Nuñez and Jesse Fleet. He has also created designs for Motorola's RAZR V3 mobile phones.

Yes yes, but I watched it at Canada. I love watching Miami Ink, coz Tattoo seems painless on tv (made me want to get a tattoo too) I think Ami James is one of the partners of Miami Ink(the shop) His skills is very good.
