don't sleep in the park! it's very cold and dangerous. try to look for some hostels- http://www.hostels.com/en/ukireland.html. you might want to consider staying outside of central london so that the costs of accommodation would be cheaper. some of the hostels offer discounts for staying over 7 days but not over 21 days (some hostels have length of stay limitation). be sure to ask them about that.

I dont know if its legal, but even if it isnt you'll probably get moved on by the police, and many parks are shut at night.

I wouldnt say it is safe; sleeping rough is never safe! It is certainly not something people usually do! You will be sharing your accomodation with drunks and drug addicts and prostitutes and people looking for a fight!

The weather would be changeable at best. Sometimes it will be sunny, other times raining, and though not bitterly cold, it would be chilly at night.

If you're going to have to sleep in parks, I dont think London is the city for you. You will find public transport and food and drink very expensive.

If you're determined, I would suggest couch surfing- try Googling it or looking at gumtree.com.

Couchsurfing is when people let someone they dont know stay at their house for free. It is fun, but no-one would want to put you up for more than a week (most only do a few days) so you'd have to move about a lot.

Goodness do not sleep in the park, unless you want to get mugged/stabbed etc.
