where 那兒
e.g. "Where is Tom?" Tom在那兒?
"Tom is in Tsuen Wan."Tom在荃灣

what 什麼
"What is your telephone number?" 你的電話號碼是什麼?
"My telephone number is 12345678." 我的電話號碼是12345678.

why為什麼
"Why are you so late?" 你為什麼這麼遲?
"Because my clock was broken." 因為我的鬧鐘壞了.

which 那個/那樣/那位
"Which girl is Mary?" 那位女生是Mary?
"The girl with a dog hat is Mary." 有一隻狗那位女生是Mary.

2. They/ that/ there 三個是樣子相似, 但不太相關的字
They 他們, 用作subject
e.g. They are talll and thin.

that 那,用來指明巳知的人/事物
- 可獨立使用
e.g. Do you know why she hates me? I don't know that.
你知不知道她為什麼討厭我? 這個, 我不知道.

-可加其他字, 指明意思
e.g. that place: Do you know Beijing? I know nothing about that place. 你知道北京嗎? 我對那個地方一無所知.
e.g. that lady: There is a lady staring at us. I don't know that lady.
那兒有一位女子瞪著我們. 我不認識那位女子.

當用作subject時, 加be, 即is/am/are/was/were/has been/have been/had been使用
