而家係二十一世紀,九乘新車都係自動波,跑車都唔例外。一向人人都話:「跑車當然係手波la,反應快d啊!』沒錯,手波係快,但尤於科技一日千里,自動波越來越勁,又出F1波箱(法拉利出嘅)、加減波、7G-Tronic (Mercedes-Benz出嘅)、Selespeed (Alfa Romeo出嘅)、Egear(Lamborghini出嘅)、DSG(Direct Shift Gearbox,世界最快自動波,係Volkswagen出嘅)、半自動波 及 multi-tronic (Porsche & Audi 用,同DSG九乘相似)。這些波箱都和手波差不多快,方便得多,又好玩。

尤其係平治(Mercedes-Benz)、寶馬(BMW)這些高檔牌子出d車都九乘用自動波,因為要求嘅係百分百高科技和方便。

但有些跑車都用手波,因為它們都追求最原始、最爽快、最好玩的駕駛感覺,如Mazda MX-5 、Mazda RX8、Lamborghini (所有林寶都有手波版)、Porsche(所有波子跑車都有手波版)等……………

總之,手波係未有耐消失。

Lamboghini have e-Gear , Ferrari have F1-Gear , 保時捷 , Audi , M-Benz have +/- gear , BMW M-power has SMG +/- gear . Most of the 跑車 also have 自動波 or +/- 波 .

Lots of sports car now have automatic transmission. Porsche (Boxster, Cayman), Ferrari (430, 360), Lambo (Gallardo). Even F-1 cars have automatic transmission nowadays as it saves you a lot of time from clutching and imagine how much time you have to use the clutch during an F-1 race (thousands) and the amount of time being saved. Some supercars like Audi R8 also has auto (+/-) gear box now. But some die hard drivers still prefer stick shift as they said stick shifting gives them more control over the car than automatic.
