With reference to the diagram below:

At full scale deflection, current through the galvanometer = 0.01 A
So the current is divided into 2 portions:
0.01A through the galvanometer and 0.99 A through the resistor.
And since the resistor is in parallel with the galvanometer, the p.d. across them should be the same.
Also for conversion of galvanometer to ammeter, the resistor should be connected in parallel which is known as "shunt".
Thus answer is A.
