Do I need to wear suit for government job interview?

一般建議：
如果你應徵的是紀律部隊員佐級或政府一般職系的職位，大致上衣著整齊便可以了。
如果你應徵的是紀律部隊的長官級或以上職位，或是行政管理職位如AO / EO，或是政府專業職位，則最好在面試時著西裝或套裝裙，因為這是一般這類職位的形象。
當然政府職位或者外間見面時，都不會列明dress code的(紀律部隊體能測試除外)，但應徵者通常只須留意類似工種面試時的衣著情況，不要作太誇張﹑太嘩眾取寵的打扮，都已經很OK了。
Do you need to wear suit for Government job interviews?
It depends. Generally speaking, if you are going to attend interviews for assistant grades in Disiplinary Departments and other Government jobs such as general clerk or drivers, just wear neat and tidy will do.
However, it is generally advised candidates to wear suit for interviews for officer grades, such as Officers in Disiplinary Departments and Administrative Officers, Executive Officers, etc., and those interview for professional posts in Government.
Apart from some occassion like the physical tests held by Disiplinary Departments, the Government seldom lists any dressing code for candidates who is going to attend interview. Since candidates can dress up by themselves to suit for their purpose, and they can make cross-reference when they look at how other candidates wear for personal interviews in similar jobs.

Depends on what position you are applying for. If it is a general clerk position, you don't have to wear suit, you can even wear jeans if you like. But if it is an executive position, you'd better wear suit.
