The following statements are wrong.Explain.
1. During the boiling of water, steam has a higher temperature than water
2. Steam is always at a high temperature than water.
3. When water is solidifying, the water molecules move more slowly.

1. The temperature of steam and boiling water are both at 100 de.C. The energy supplied is used to vapourize the water to become steam.

2. Steam vapourized from boiling water has the same temperature as the water.

3. The kinetic energy of water molecules (and hence speed of the molecu les)remain the same when solidifying. The energy released during freezing comes from the potential energy between molecules.
