什麼是past participle？
Present Participle 表示 active in meaning ； Past Participle 表示 passive in meaning ：
The man giving the lecture is a DB member.
The lecture given by the DB member has caused much controversy.

當 Participle acts as Adjective 及亦作情感上的形容，那麼 Present Participle 用來形容 "死物"； Past Participle 用來形容 "人"：
E.g.: The film was boring
E.g.: We were all bored to death.

簡單來說，past participle 是一個動詞變化型, 就是過去分詞, 如go--> gone, cut--> cut want--> wanted 這些

past participle主要用於三個情況, 第一, 是用於perfect tense, 在have, has, had之後的動詞就用past participle

第二個是在被動句(passive voice)裏, 在be (即am, is, are, was, were)之後的動詞要用past participle

第三個是將past participle作形容詞用, 例如: The burnt house is gonig to be rebuilt.

這裏burnt是作形容詞, 解燒過

past participle作形容詞有幾種用法: 1. 形容被動的事件, 如: The window is broken. A stolen car was found yesterday.

2. 形容人的心情: I am delighted. She is interested in opera.

3. 形容已完成的事件: The burnt house (燒過的房屋) the cooked food (煮過的食物)
