There are currently 3 main method of travelling between London and Paris:
1) EasyJet (www.easyjet.com), Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) both operate a frequent operate from London to Paris... The flight time is approximately 1hour while the time taking to travel from London and to Paris at the airport could means the total time could add up to 6hours... The flight will cost you from as low as around GBP15~GBP50 per way depending what time of the day and also for Ryanair, they fly to a smaller regional airport further away from Paris city centre compare to EasyJet or any other carriers... You can also have a look at British Airways (www.ba.com) and BMI (www.flybmi.com) both of which do provide pretty bargin fare from time to time as well...
2) EuroStar operate a frequent train services between London Waterloo to Paris... The train time take approximately 2hours 45minutes and this would bring you from city centre to city centre... So a far less additional travelling time compare to flying... The cost of tickets could vary a lot depending on the timing and date... Bu discount fare could start from arond GBP70 per way... For further information, you can visit www.eurostar.com and discount ticket is only avaliable for online booking and I would advice you to book well in advance...
3) Euroliners (NationalExpress) operate a number of coach services between London Victoria and Paris... The coach journey take around 8hours and that most of the services are overnight which means you depart late at night and arrive early in the morning... The standard ticket is approximately GBP40 return... But discount (FunFare) ticke t is avaliable from GBP9 per way... For further information, you can visit www.nationalexpress. com and discount ticket is only avaliable for online booking and that the discounted fare would raise as more tickets are sold...
Looking at the fare, I would not suggest you to travel by plane as it could be the most costly method... If you are willing to pay, you may well pay the little extra to take EuroStar which actually save you from making the way to/from the airport which could end up more costly than taking the train... Since taking a coach to Luton/Stansted Airport (where Ryanair/EasyJet depart) would cost you GBP10 already... And EuroStar actually get you to/from the city centre quicker... And if you are planning to go cheap, then why not take the coach which will infact save you a night of hotel cost, and it is definately the cheapest and also save you more if you can sleep on the coach...
Hope these information actually help you...
