2000年底所發表的這張首張專輯「Hybrid Theory」，雖未讓Linkin Park這個來自南加州的年輕樂團以雷霆萬鈞之勢平地一聲雷地竄起，但卻成功地在2001年整年中發揮驚人的耐力，靠著一首首單曲的推出以及無數的巡迴演出，從美國紅到英國以及歐洲、亞洲，甚至連在一些日本街頭流行雜誌中都可見到關於Linkin Park的大篇幅報導，無怪乎他們會獲譽為已取代了Limp Bizkit在年輕世代心目中的地位。然後你會見到Linkin Park相繼成為Metal Hammer、Rock Sound等雜誌的封面人物並名列年度重金屬音樂祭Ozzfest的頭條樂隊，同時「Hybrid Theory」成為2001年美國最暢銷專輯冠軍之餘，更讓人吃驚地獲跳舞音樂雜誌Touch選為年度50張最佳專輯之一。

正所謂時勢造英雄，當然我們不能否認Linkin Park今日鋒芒一時無兩大大得助於Rap-Metal/Thash-Hop以及Nu-Metal風潮走勢持續強勁的推波助瀾，但更重要的是Linkin Park的成功之道在於透過雙主音演唱/Rap交錯演繹下，同時精準地加入DJ Joe Hahn的Scratch手法以及Hip Hop Groove/電氣化肌理(官方資料中甚至指出自己崇拜的電子狂人Aphex Twin是他們的音樂影響之一！)，而形成一種能夠同時討好Rap-Metal/Thash-Hop與Nu-Metal兩造樂迷的重型格局，好比被譽為摩登版”Walk This Way”、寫出優異Rappin’ Rhyme的”Papaercut”，又如這個世代對Rage Against The Machine經典”Killing In The Name”之回應的”One Step Closer”(留意歌詞中一句「Shut Up When I’m Talking To You」)、出現在電影「魔鬼接班人」原聲帶中的”Points Of Authority”等單曲都是最佳例證。另一方面，歌曲中Catchy的副歌旋律亦獲所蘊含之不流俗的商業潛質，又能在不經意間擄獲普羅樂迷的心，聽聽在令人心碎之鋼琴琴音引導下唱著副歌: 「I tried so hard/And got so far/But in the end/It doesn’t even matter/…」的”In The End”是如何觸動心靈。

正如同Touch雜誌所下的標題「Taking The Bizkit」般，Linkin Park正是這個世代最獨一無二的混種音樂霸王！！！
