A misture consists of one mol of Na2CO3 and one mol of NaHCO3.
what is the least number of moles of HCl acid required to liberate all the available carbon dioxide from the mixture?

Na2CO3+2HCl-->2NaCl+CO2+H2O
NaHCO3+HCl-->NaCl+CO2+H2O

From the equations, 2 moles of HCl are required to liberate all CO2 from Sodium carbonate; 1 mole is required for Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate.
therefore a total of 3 moles of HCl is needed.
