Both conduction and convection involve the vibration of molecules.The denser the medium, the more closer the atoms are packed together,resulting in a faster energy tansfer.

Conduction and convection do not involve the vibration of molecules. Conduction involve the collision between molecules and subatomic particles (free electrons for instance). Convection involves movement of a mass of molecules. In addition the explanation is not that simple.
