Go to Bristol U la. After the LLB, you should join one of the Bar inns in London. Then go back to take the PCLL. Though it is very costly and takes much longer time. The outcome is more promising. You know many successful barristers in HK are from Bistol U grads.
If you take the Lond U external, it is very very difficult for you to get a trainee contract from those big City firms corporate finance team. More likely, you will end up as a general practice solicitor in medium to small Chinese firms.做細行general practice 好有經驗一个月都未必揾到$6,000-7,000,你一定後悔,徐非你對law好有興趣,唸住做PhD in law 咁又唔同睇法, 好多成績好好嘅Law友讀完PCLL或做完trainee solicitor or bar pupil 之後都死死地去讀MAcc / Post-graduate Diploma in Accountancy,考HKICPA QP 或大陸CPA 搏入big 4,而家law graduates比市場實際需要多出十倍 (但會計就工揾人),除非你老豆同D corporate finance lawyer 或者D大孖沙 好熟,肯定入到Richard Butlers or Allen & Overy咁就唔同。会計大熱,不如讀会計
So, I would advice you to go to USA, study for a JD and LLM in Intellectual Property or Corporate and Securities Law, then go to China study another LLM in Intellectual Property or Corporate and Securities Law in Peking U, Tsinghua, Jiaotong .... and take the China Bar Exam or China Patent Agent Exam...... and work for big US MNCs in US or China. This route is less competitive and much more lucrative then studying in UK and then practise in HK.
Or, another choice is to take an MAcc degree and then take CPA exam which is more promsing. HK is a place for accountants, not lawyers. If u wanna to be a lawyer, try US and China, not HK/UK.
