我想問係咪一定要背譜??但我before睇過trinity個本野，佢話"Performance of pieces from memory is not a requirment in any Trinity diploma. However candidates are encouraged to play all or part of their programme from memory if they feel that it will enhance their performance. No credit will be given for performance from memory and no allowance will be made if memorisation inhibits musical performance."

現時已改規定，背譜不是必需的。「背」呢個行為唔會加分，但你覺得對你幫助可以背，然而若背譜令你表現差左 (例如：背背下 甩左…) 又唔會有同情分。我都是全部睇譜彈。合格左 (2006年12月)。
事實上，到左這個程度，「背」不但是個好練習，而且一定程度上是幫到表演的。首先，份譜九成九是要掀的啦 (很少只兩頁吧)，掀的時候又要驚掀錯頁啦…諸如此類， (我考grade時試過個試場個琴，琴譜架前面的「檔」頗高，幾乎連書邊都掀爛﹗) 第二，本書又未必設計得好好幫你掀書 (例如在重要關頭要你掀，你都掀唔到﹗) 第三，這個程度好多時要求的技巧令你都睇唔切譜，又係要背。第四，這個要注意：若請親朋好友幫你掀譜 (page-turner) 要注意裝束儀容…等等，這個都計分。

補充說明：若第二點情況出現，考生係可以影印一頁半頁，貼 0係頭 貼 0係尾，以幫助睇譜的。不過還是要注意表現得「專業」點﹗

我係2006年11月考ATCL的Performance，我當時都係睇住譜彈o既，
不過要小心turn page，唔好turn錯第2頁就得la
