I have a computer with Asus P4S533-E motherboard, but the harddisk is dead, i want to change the harddisk. However, I don't know how big does this motherboard support to a harddisk, and I can't find any related informantion on the web, and I don't have its mannual because the computer is given by my friend.

The current harddisk (dead one) is 40G, but I want to buy a bigger one...

Do anyone know how to figure it out?

your motherboard supports ATA133 hard disk. so, most of the common capacity for the should work fine with your motherboard. If you want to use bigger size, I suggest you to buy 320G max. because if you use too big in size, the search time will be longer. that means your pc performance will drop due to using bigger size hard disk. If you want to maintain the system performance, you should consider to buy 2 hard disk instead of one. For example, if you think you need a 320gb hard disk, you can consider to buy 2 160gb hard disk or buy one smaller capacity hard disk for storing all your programme and buy one bigger capacity for storing all your data, like movie, pic, etc. Like 80gb and 250gb combination will be perfect. The following link contains some technical spec for your motherboard. Hope this can help

You don't need to worry about hard drive size limit nowadays.
The current limit is 144,000,000 GB.
Your motherboard is new enough to be bounded by the new limit, so even the 750 GB Seagate is not a problem for you.

By the way, you can get the manual for P4S533-E from here:
