however, why chlorine doesnt react with water to form HCL AND HOCL whereas only reactewith KBR.
2iodine is soluble in kI forming potassium triiodide .the reaction is not reversible but why adding 1,1,1-trichloroethane ,iodine will dissolve in 1,1,1-trichloroethane and violet colour appears.(should be no iodine as all iodine reacte with kI to form potassium triiodide)
