5) I would personally suggest B&B if they are not much more expensive than hostal... As in B&B, you will be much safer with your belongings as you have your own room and also have a breakfast provided not to have to worry about...
6) To be honest, all those cities above are not the most interesting place in UK... But if you have to choose from them, Manchester seems like the best option from that...
