Given:
length of tank, L = 80 cm,
width of tank, W = 40 cm,
height of tank, H= 50 cm
Solution:
Volume of tank = L x W x H cm^3
3/5 of tank is filled up with water, therefore,
Volume of water Vw = L x W x H x 3/5 = 80 x 40 x 50 x 3/5 =96000 cm^3

Total volume of 12 metal balls: Vb = 12 x 400 cm^3 = 4800 cm^3

Rise of water level in the tank = volume of ball / plane area of tank
= 4800 / (80 x 40)
= 1.5 cm^3

1.The figure shows a tank of length 80 cm, width 40 cm and height 50 cm.3/5 of the tank is filled up with water.

The volume of water is
80cm X 40cm X 50cm X 3/5 = 96000cm(3)

The rise in water level is
400cm(3) X 12 / (80cm X 40cm)
=4800cm(3) / 3200cm(2)
=3/2cm

=80x40x50x3/5
=96000cm^3

=400x12
=4800cm^3

=4800/ 80 /40
=15cm

the volume of the water
=80x40x50x3/5
=96000cm^3

the volume of the total of the balls
=400x12
=4800cm^3

the rise in water tank
=4800/ 80 /40
=15cm
