Santa Claus is riding on a sledge to distribute Christmas presents to children as shown. The deers apply a force of 5000N to pull the sledge up a slope at a constant speed. The slope is at an angle of 10 degree to the gorizontal. Suppose the friction acting on the sledge is 4250N and the total weight of Santa Claus and the sledge is 3000N. Find the weight of the presents.

pls give me steps of calculations in details~!!

thx a bunch!!!

Santa Claus is riding on a sledge to distribute Christmas presents to children as shown.

The deers apply a force of 5000N to pull the sledge up a slope at a constant speed.

The slope is at an angle of 10 degree to the gorizontal. Suppose the friction acting on

the sledge is 4250N and the total weight of Santa Claus and the sledge is 3000N. Find

the weight of the presents.

As it moves at constant velocity,the force is balanced.

Let m kg be the mass of the weight of the presents.

(3000 + m)sin10 + Friction = 5000

m = 1319.077862 kg

Hence,the weight of the presents is 1319 kg(correct to nearest figures)

let the weight of the presents be x
sin10=(5000-4250)/(3000+x)
3000+x=750/sin10
x=1319
