職業英語文憑課程=高級商業英語文憑課程

「職業英語文憑課程」是否等同「高級商業英語文憑課程」很難一概而論，因為舉辦機構的教學準則及內容沒有劃一標準，再者，文憑的級別也很難界定 — 甲機構的高級文憑課程不一定予乙機構認可。當然，若政府參與的教學機構則另作別論，如IVE、職業訓練局及各大專院校等。

基本上，「職業英語」(Vocational English / Workplace English) 是有關職場的英語；侍應、的士司機、導遊或零售業售貨員等都要學習特定的英語，不限於「商業」上(Commercial)的英語，如英語電話應對、商業書信或一般辦公室英語等。但現今香港，很多時已把職業及商業英語合二為一。

Entry Requirements


Applicants who have the HKU SPACE Diploma in Business English with Credit or above do not need to take the entry test.
All other applicants are required to take the entry test and complete the Entry Test Application Form.

Applicants must have


at least a Grade "B" in HKCEE English Language (Syllaubs B) or Grade"D" in HKALE (Use of English, or an equivalent Professional English qualification.
AND
pass a written entry test (see Entry Test Procedure below for details).


Entry Test Procedure

There is a 90-minute written entry test involved, which costs $250. Students who already possess the HKU SPACE Diploma in Business English with Credit or above are exempted from this entry test. All other candidates have to sit this written entry test.
Candidates will be informed of their entry test results as soon as possible afterwards, to enable successful applicants to apply for the course of their choice. The schedule for entry test is:

Application forms for taking the written entry test are available in person, from any HKU SPACE enrolment centre. There is a non-refundable fee of $250 to cover the cost of processing the test.
