The word 'partnership' is a relation between persons, who have agreed to share the profits of the business carried on by all or any one of them acting for all. These persons are called partners, the business concern is a partnership firm and the document detailing the terms of the agreement, the powers of the partners and the objectives is called the partnership deed.

A partnership deed can be either oral or written. But it is always better to have a written document putting across all the terms and conditions to avoid any complications. An individual and a company can enter into a partnership deed, or two companies can come together to form a partnership.
