Can I get HK Permanent Residency by holding Working visa?

I am a Mainland China - borned Australian Citizen and will be working in Hong Kong with a working visa.

I would like to know if I can apply for permanet residency in HK after working in HK for certain years? Do I have to give up my Australian Citizenship before I apply for it? How many years do I need to stay in Hong Kong before I qualifty for the requirement?

btw, I do not have Chinese citizenship or passport anymore. I have never lived in Hong Kong before either.

As far as I know, if a person who lives in HK for 7 years, he/she can apply for a permanet residency in HK. There is no need for you to give up your Australian Citizenship. However, there are some conditions on "living in HK" such as you must at least stay in HK for not less than a certain number of days within a year.
