The Exchange Fund

The composition of Exchange Fund varies from time to time, and it is not intened to be fixed. To see the latest published composition of Exchange Fund, dated 28-Feb-2007, please see the annex of the press release . Currently, value of the Exchange Fund worth around $HK 876.7 billion（八千七百六十六億港元）.

Exchange Fund is completely owned by Hong Kong Government for statuory purpose. It is obvious that we do not need so much money for the original statuory purpose because the Exchange Fund is seven times of currency in circulation.
