Most of sugar we use every day is produced from sugar cane. Sugar cane contains sucrose. In order to make sugar, people smash sugar cane to obtain cane juice. Then the juice is boiled at a very high temperature to evaporate off the liquid that froms a thick syrup. At this stage, different chemicals are added to make different kinds of sugar. Then, the syrup eventually turns into a soild crystal. Larger crystals are crushed to make the sugar that we use in our daily lives.
