In fact, all the employers will consider Open University is a second-class degree. However, it should also be known that most of the personnel manager will consider that degree from part-time study/ distance learning are second too.
In addition, recognization is an issue, (it is sure that OU is recognized), but HKU first of CUHK first is another issue. (or Harvard is no 1)
I think if you want to save money, you may see whether the CUHK Master Degree in Translation will accept your application (or after you have get a professional title such as Inst of Lingu.) Nevertheless, i think you may have to got a degree first.
Finally, perhaps you may want to get a Business degree if you work in business sectors, such as communication etc. There are number of university in Australia and UK offer Bachelor in Business Communication and advertising. It may even made your future more bright then now.
