May I know whether University of St. Andrews is a good school? Is it famous for International politics? Is it famous in Hong Kong?

For some reasons, its entry standard is very high.

Thank you.

So is St. Andrews a good university? But its entry requirement for International relations is higher than that of LSE! I really want to know whether it is considered prestigious and if not, why it is so. Yes, I am from Hong Kong. Thanks a lot!!!!!

Hello St Andrews is a small town (population ~18,000) in Scotland which is pretty far up north, on the east coast. The university has a very good reputation both nationally and internationally. Accoording to The Times Good University Guide 2005 the university ranked 7th in UK. I assume International Relations is under the subject Politics, in that case their ranking by subject (Politics) was also the 7th in the UK. They also have an excellent Research Assessment Exercise rating (good if you are doing research). Their entry requirements are high as a result of their reputation, which on average is AAB. Just to mention, Price William of Wales is also an alumni of the uni, doing geography.

Hope this helps :)

St Andrews is a well-known university in UK, it is ok for International Politics but more famous for fine art. I doubt it is very famous in Hk, but it is famous for educated Prince William - if that counts.

of course the entry requirement is demanding, It is a good university after all.

Ha! I have played golf at St. Andrews. It is the original place of golf. Very good for playing golf but not its university. The university is small and not famous. Only little prince had studied there. Are you a Hongese? If you are a Briton and fond of golf, it's ok. If u are a Hongese, it seems that you are wasting your time to study (but not playing golf) there.

St Andrews is a boring place. It takes 3 hrs to Edinburgh and a whole day to London. U can only play golf during the summer but by that time u will go back to HK to see your mom. If u wanna to learn the Scottish culture, why not Edinburgh or Stirling (They were once capital cities of Scotland)
