ATP is the basic energy unit that will be used in cells. Glucose is the storage form of ATPs. To better understand the relationship between two, let say ATPs are money coin and glucose are the money notes. Cells like a vending machine which only take coins. So if you would buy things from the vending machine (i.e. cells), you have to use coins (i.e ATP). However, you only have notes (i.e. glucose) in hand, prior to use the vehding machine, you have to break them down to coins. This effort of breaking down requires specific enzymes and uses up some energy.
