My mother had two very old Persians, retired show cats that she was particularly attached to and had fixed so they could live in the house. They used to go at it like teenagers, it was really funny. Senior citizen cat sex (I think they're both dead now, this was several years ago, and they were both 12 or 13 at the time).
Spayed/neutered cats are not supposed to do that, and I've certainly never seen any but those two do it, but I guess it's possible. If they're fixed, what's the harm? Let 'em have a good time.

If a male cat is neutered then he won't have the "desire" to do it so it won't happen.
