Mobile phone should not be banned in school. To some extend, it cannot be banned. Students should have the right to have and to use mobile phone.

In such fast running society or in this information-first era, almost everyone has a mobile phone. Some people may have two or above with them. It is a product of today's demand. Mobile phones are shown every where that students can reach them easily. Education in school should teach students why and how to use it, not to avoid it. Because the more to force youths to stay away, the more they want to look closer.

Many parents works out of office hours. Students can hardly see and talk to them after school and so some may choose not to go home early. Mobile phones may help parents to increase the time to communicate with their children. Sometimes a short message of consideration can help a lot.

Unlike pornographics, cigarettes, alcohols and drugs, schools should consider mobile phone is similar to other stationary like electronic dictionary, which is quite necessary but most students use it to play games. Teachers could state some rules of using mobile phone in school area. For example, Silent mode should be used in class, Read message only under the permit from teachers in class, or even only in recess/ break time, etc.

School is the place to learn, not to omitt. New technology worths to learn. Teachers should play their role well to control and to harmonize every subtle things in school.

I disagree with mobile phones being banned at school with the following argument:
mobile phones has become the most common and convinient way of us connecting to other people while we or the other party is not at home. I understand that there is no need for mobile phones being used during school time, but what about before and after school, when a lot of students are travelling alone? It is important that there is a way in which the parents can contact their child / children, and mobile phone is no doubt the most efficient way of doing so. If a school is to band students from bringing mobile phones to school, they are also taking away their right of being conected to other people while outside school time, which should be none of the school's concern. therefore I urge you to reconsider in the matter of banning mobile phones in school. thank you for your attention.

My opinion is the student can carry the mobile phone to school, but must switch off during the lesson, they can use when time of recess or lunch. at certain, the mobile phone shouldn't be banned in school.
