1. To break the back of
- 賣命工作
- 完成工作中最困難的部分
E.g. We've broken the back of our task.
(我們已完成任務的最艱巨部分。)

2. To bring forth
- 出生；產生
- 引起；造成
E.g. Treacherous weather may bring forth a host of diseases.
(惡劣多變的氣候可能會引起多種的疾病。)

3. To go for broke
- 孤注一擲
- 竭盡全力
E.g. The boss may go for broke by sacking his manager!
(老闆可能會孤注一擲，把他的經理也解僱掉！)

4. To have the bulge on
- 勝過某人，佔某人的上風
E.g. In this respect, we may have the bulge on them.
(在這方面，我們可能超越他們。)

5. To burn the midnight oil
- 開夜車
- 工作、學習至深夜
E.g. The final exam is approaching, more and more students are burning the midnight oil!
(大考將至，愈來愈多的學生在開夜車。)

6. To meet one's match
- 遇到勁敵
- 碰到棘手之事
E.g. They asked me to repair the car; I could not but admit I'd met my watch!

7. To lead someone a (merry) dance
- 給某人帶來不少麻煩
- 使某人吃得不少苦頭
E.g. She always leads her husband a merry dance.
(她總是給她的丈夫添麻煩。)

8. Look before you leap
- 三思而後行
E.g. As to this matter, you must look before you leap.
(關於此事，你必須三思而後行。)

但係我覺得唔係話你嘔到十個出黎就加十分咁
最緊要係用得恰到好處
梗硬放幾個入篇文都冇用
我試過攞住本諺語書作文,放咗幾個諺語入去
最後因為用錯咗扣住好多分
我建議你得閒望多d
作文時用到就用就夠ga la
而且如果作到一d formal d 既文(e.g proposal)千其唔好用諺語------唔啱format
p.s. 一篇文,最著重ge其實係 format

句形 ---- lee個真係值得花時間落去

難字,諺語嗰d其實只係錦上添花.

無論小學至大學, 作文都係比機會你運用你識既野, 等如學功夫, 叫你耍腿法出黎, 如果未學或未熟你都照踢, 一係踢唔好, 一係受傷.

即係你用既諺語, 我打幾個出黎比你抄有乜所謂, 但係人地問返你果陣, 可能係你糗的時候.

最好係你用現有既生字基礎, 做好每一句, 留意文法, 多去想想人家讀時會明唔明,
而組織亦很重要, 咩語言都係, 表達最重要有條理.
