Nature and Objectives

This new program “Professional Diploma Program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management”, co-organized by Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and Hong Kong Logistics Association (HKLA), aims to provide participants with up-to-date concepts in logistics and supply chain management (SCM).

This program does not only encompasses principles of logistics and SCM, sourcing and procurement management, but also distribution centre and inventory management, transportation, current developments, financial management and enabling technologies in logistics and supply chain management.

Recognition

This program is co-organized by Hong Kong Logistics Association (HKLA) and is recognized as one of the qualifications approved for admission to HKLA’s Professional Membership. Participants will automatically become Student of HKLA while progressing this program. Website : www.hkla.org.hk





Target Participants

* Executives and professionals in business functional areas such as purchasing, HR, marketing and customer service, administration, etc. who wish to integrate their functional knowledge with logistics / SCM and related functions.

* Experienced executives involved in distribution, warehousing, shipping, freightage and transportation etc. who are now seeking to widen their professional knowledge in order to seize the opportunity in applying total logistics concept and SCM approach to achieve business edge.





Entry Qualification

Applicants should be in possession of a post-secondary Diploma (e.g. DipMgt, DipBA. Dip in Marketing, etc.), degree or professional membership. Other applicants at Form 5 standard and with 5 passes in HKCEE and with 7 years' relevant experience holding executive / supervisory position with a recommendation letter from employer may be accepted (to be considered on a case-by-case basis).





Assessment and Award of Diploma

The “Professional Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management” will be jointly awarded by HKPC and HKLA to participants who have achieved the prescribed overall 75% attendance and an overall pass grade in all assignments for Module 5, 6, 7 (weighting 30%), the project report (weighting : written report 10%, presentation 10%) and examination for Module 1, 2, 3, 4 (weighting 50%). Participants are expected to apply their working experience and course contents of this program to their project. Participant who failed in the project or examination will be granted only one time re-submission or re-sit examination at a fee of HK$150.

This programme aims to provide students with specialized knowledge of the major aspects in logistics, including transportation, inventory, warehousing, purchasing and materials handling.

III. Minimum Entry Requirements



Completion of Form 5; OR
Be aged 21 or above.





IV. Further Studies


Graduates of the Professional Certificate in Logistics who satisfy the entry requirements of the Diploma in Business (Logistics) will be granted four-subject advanced standing towards the Diploma in Business (Logistics). Completion of the Professional Certificate does not automatically qualify for direct entry to the Diploma in Business.






V. Programme Fee

HK$6,160 for the whole programme (to be paid on a subject-by-subject basis and subject to revision)







VI. Duration and Mode of Study

It takes students 8 months to complete the programme on a part-time evening basis. Students are required to study 2 subjects each term according to the study schedule set by the School.
