盆菜的英文是Poon Choi
Poon Choi是把中文譯成Eng的,
因為西方國家並沒有盆菜,
洋人只好依照讀音直譯。

一般傳统飲食名字都無正規的英文字彙的如虾餃、燒買、乂燒包都係音譯而巳，最出名音譯中國食品首推tea(茶)了，而南洋地方的咖哩在英文中其實亦係音譯而已，所以盆菜音譯poon choi即可如用意譯成xxfood则倫類番鬼佬唔會明的但年夜钣反而可用newyear supper直譯之。
