Both sound and light are waves (Sound is longitudinal wave while light is tranverves wave). Diffraction is one of the property of waves, so both sound and light can be diffracted.

Nonetheless, the diffraction of light is not significant as the wavelength of light is far too small to be compared to the obstacles. (wavelength of light can be in 10^-13 m). As the degree of diffraction is proportional to the wavelegth. So diffraction of light is very difficult to detect.

diffraction is a property of wave, both sound and light are wave, so they both can be diffracted.

since the wavelength of sound is long, we can easily observe the diffraction. say, we can listen to someone talking after turning a corner of the road.

wavelength of light is very short, we can only observe it by using a really small slit.

light also is a kind of wave, called EM wave(electromagnetic wave)....As wave shows four properties:reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference. So, light can be diffracted also.
