Here is the deal. I'm from Venezuela and i don't want to buy dollars on the black market, take the money out in suitcases -- or buy luxury goods abroad with my credit cards to exchange some money that i have back home and i don't need/want to buy anything big right now.

You cannot use a credit card to pay for stock purchases. You can use the cash you can get from a credit card to pay for it, but brokerage firms do not accept credit cards.

You can get a cash advance and pay for the stock.
(I don't think traders use Mastercard or anything else but you can find a way around it using cash advance)

He got a cash advance on his credit card, at a stupidly high interest rate. Dumb move. He did not break a law. Brokerages don't take credit cards as payment on stocks. It's an option or a cash purchase. He is just really tragically stupid and has no business trading, for obvious reasons.

Buying stock requires cash settlement within 3 days of you placing your buy order. A credit card is not accepted. You could get a cash advance from some credit cards to meet the cash settlement, deposit the cash in your checking account and pay for the stock with a check from that account.
