OK I can definitely answer this! I had a kidney transplant and my immune system IS REALLY LOW.

I have to take a shot called epogen. I have to take 2 shots a week to build mine up.

Wash your hands a lot

They also told me to eat: Brown rice - contain many amino acids that help rebuild skin tissue
* Whole grains - contain folic acid, magnesium, and vitamin E, B vitamins, minerals, and fiber
* Oats - use them in the morning with honey or raisins. Oats have an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and help to keep you regular.

Seeds and nuts

* Almonds - Almonds contain protein, the B vitamins, calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Use them as a snack. These small nuts help to build muscles and tissue.
* Flax seeds - These seeds are known for containing plenty of omega 3 oil, an essential oil for life. They also contain fiber when used ground up and put into smoothies. Omega 3 is also an anti-inflammatory oil, which is good for acne.
* Pecans - This is one of the good nuts to eat. It contains Vitamin A, B's, C, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and potassium. Use them as a snack.
* Pine nuts - these nuts also one of the best to eat. They contain vitamin A, C, B's, protein and iron.
* Sesame seeds - They are high in calcium, phosphorus, and potassium. They are helpful in relieving various skin diseases such as acne by reducing the swelling.
* Sunflower seeds - These seeds should be used as a snack. They are high in protein, calcium and vitamin A. They provide nutrients for building the whole body and are good for dry skin.

All of these nuts and seeds should be eaten raw. Heating and other processing will kill the life force of the nut or seed and also reduce the quantity of the vitamins and minerals.

Eat these nuts and seeds as snacks. Sesame seeds, sunflower, and flax seeds can be put directly into your blender as you make your smoothies.

I hope it helps

Try eating a well balanced meal.Do not deprive yourself of a food from any specific food group such as carbohydrates.Just try and eat 1 serving from each of the food groups at each mealtime. And eat a snack in between breakfast, lunch and dinner such as an apple(apples are great for keeping your blood sugar level) or grapes or an orange.Even munching on celery is good in between meals.Garlic has been known for it's power in keeping the immune system strong, plus exercise and get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.A multi vitamin is really great so try and take one everyday. When you go to the grocery store try and wear gloves before grabbing a shopping cart. There are loads of germs and bacteria on those things not to mention human feces, bodily fluids and even ecoli bacteria.Just think about it,people pick up a package of chicken maybe getting some of the blood from the chicken on their hands then they put their hands back on the shopping cart.Another way to avoid bad germs is after washing your hands in a public restroom grab a paper towel and use it to open the door to leave the bathroom. Unfortunately there are people who do not wash their hands and then open the door to leave then you come along do your business, wash your hands only to re infect them with the germs the other person left behind.Another thing,if you ever eat at those all you can eat buffets such as HomeTown Buffet I suggest wearing a disposable glove while serving yourself because lots and lots of people are using the serving utinsils with dirty hands, then when you serve yourself your transfering all of the germs from those utinsile onto yourself. You can take sanitizer along with you to use to clean your hands when you can't wash.Grape juice is really good for boosting your immune system I drink it myself all the time.I also use sanitizer on all of my doorknobs and before I open a can of soda I'll rinse it off also do the same with canned food.I looked at a can of corn under a micro scope once and saw the uglies stuff alive on it.Just some little changes where it counts the most can spare you alot of misery. So good luck and I hope I was able to help.

Long-term active memory is acquired following infection by activation of B and T cells. Active immunity can also be generated artificially, through vaccination. The principle behind vaccination (also called immunization) is to introduce an antigen from a pathogen in order to stimulate the immune system and develop specific immunity against that particular pathogen without causing disease associated with that organism. This deliberate induction of an immune response is successful because it exploits the natural specificity of the immune system, as well as its inducibility. With infectious disease remaining one of the leading causes of death in the human population, vaccination represents the most effective manipulation of the immune system mankind has developed.
The immune system is enhanced by sleep and rest, and is impaired by stress. Diet may affect the immune system; for example, fresh fruits, vegetables, and foods rich in certain fatty acids may foster a healthy immune system. Likewise, fetal undernourishment can cause a lifelong impairment of the immune system. In traditional medicine, some herbs are believed to stimulate the immune system, such as echinacea, licorice, ginseng, astragalus, sage, garlic, elderberry, shitake and lingzhi mushrooms, and hyssop, as well as honey. Studies have suggested that such herbs can indeed stimulate the immune system, although their mode of action is complex and difficult to characterize.
Usually, the immune response is a desired effect. Even deliberate immunosuppression (in the treatment of autoimmune disorders or organ transplant, for example) attempts to maintain a balance between suppression of parts of the immune system and the ability to fight disease and infection.
Prevent HIV / AIDS.

Supplements and vitamins are useless to most people who have normal diets.

Just avoid the bad things, smoking, excess alcohol, drugs and animal fats. Take regular, vigorous exercise and eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and not too much meat.

Generally if you buy anything that says it improves your immune system it is just adding to someone elses bank balance and reducing yours!

Get a cold. Each time you get one, your body develops an imunity for that strain of virus.

Seriously. Get sick. When you are sick, your body produces more white blood cells, which fight of virusus and infections. Technically, you are at your strongest when you are sick. Weird as that sounds.

And each time you recover, you have built another immunity.

But the answer everyone will give you is Ecanasia (sp?).

Mine's actually scientific fact though, and so blatantly obvious most everyone ignores it.

The people who live in the cleanest homes, all things equal, have the least immunities. Folks living in dirty conditions build strong immunities. Mexican's don't get sick from their own water, for example, while we do, when visiting.

Same answer in short form that Gangadhar gives more scientifically further down, so there, you thumbs-down voters!
