To get to AUH, the most direct way to fly could be Emirates/Qatar Airways direct flights to Dubai/Doha then connect onto flights to AUH/Muscat (Oman)... This is because Etihad Airways only operate flights from AUH to Kuala Lumpur/Bangkok/Manila... But Hong Kong is not on their list... And for Muscat, there is no direct link to SE Asia...
And finally, Gulf Air (GF) still do operate to Hong Kong via BKK from Bahrain...
