To listen to the pronunciation of all the phonetic symbols, go to
http://www.ling.hf.ntnu.no/ipa/full/ipachart_vowels.html

It's not difficult to remember the small subset of phonetic symbols that English uses. Read as much as you can, and pay close attention to the pronunciation notation in a good dictionary, such as Wiktionary, as you look up words.
