Who should take the seat ?

A lot of people were standing at the bus station , waiting for the bus .
It was so cold that everyone wanted to have a seat on the bus .
(::actually i cant see the relationship between cold weather and hav a seat, maybe u can consider a bit on it, but the grammar is fine here::)

All of people had been waiting for a long time ,
(All the people HAVE been waiting for a long time )

but the bus still didn' t come .

There was an old woman aged of seventy-five and a child aged of three among the
waiting people .

At last , No . 1 bus was coming to them ,
and then the old woman and the child got on the bus .
