Where can I get good sushi in LA? With kids?

I just don't have a good sushi place in LA! Any suggestions? Preferably on the westside/Santa Monica. Good place to take young kids. I'm not into glitzy restaurants, just good authentic friendly unusual places. (I have little list of kid friendly restaurants that I've been developing, http://www.quixo.com/los_angeles_dining_with_kids.htm but don't have anything for sushi!)

Clarification: yes, my kids like sushi. Sometimes. They are kids. That's why I want a kid friendly place where they'll serve tofu or anything else they might also like. You know, somewhere they are nice. Also, I know I can look in the phone book -- just hoping someone might have an actual recommendation. Thanks!

Hide (hee-dei) Sushi on Sawtelle is good for kids, it's small so tends to get a bit crowded.

another fun (cheap) place is Kaiten Sushi at the Olympic Collection at Sawtelle & Olympic, 2nd floor. I always see kids running around in there.

There's also Sakura on Centinela Avenue just north of Culver Blvd.

I know this is on the other side of LA- actually in Pasadena... but Sushi Afloat on Colorado is a fun place. The sushi goes around on a little river and you can choose the boat you want to eat. It's fun because the plates are cheap and the kids are entertained with the boats that go around... they can even choose which one they want.

Todai is a seafood buffet, and they have pretty good sushi. I always fill myself up when I go there. I'm pretty sure you could find a location by using their website

Oh, my God!! L.A. has the best sushi! Both my girls started eating sushi very young and in L.A., everywhere I took them from very fancy places to not no fancy, they always welcomed kids. Look in the phone book, there are literally hundreds of places to choose from. Go to the Irvine Ranch for very casual dining as well as shopping.

Go online.Its cheaper and gets shipped right to your door for a low cost.

its LA, almost any place has good sushi.
