Find the ratio.

1. If 3a=4k,7b=10k and 6c=5k,where k is not equal to 0,find a:b:c.

2a.The total value of some $0.5,$1.5 and $3 stamps is $73.It is know that the numbers of these three kinds of stamps are in the ratio of 4:9:7.
If there are 4k pieces of $0.5 stamps,express the numbers of $1.5 stamps and $3 stamps in terms of k.

b.Hence,find the number of $0.5 stamps.

(1)
3a=4k, i.e. a=4k/3
7b=10k, i.e. b=10k/7
6c=5k, i.e. c=5k/6
Hence, a:b:c=(4k/3):(10k/7):(5k/6)
=42:60:35

(2)
(a)
There are 9k $1.5 stamps and 7k $3 stamps.
(b)
4(0.5)k+9(1.5)k+7(3)k=73
2k+13.5k+21k=73
36.5k=73
k=2
There are 4(2)=8 $0.5 stamps.

Highest Common Factor of 3 ,7 ,6 is 42
then 42a=56k ,42b=60k ,42c=35k , thus a:b:c=56:60:35
2a
4k *0.5 + 9k*1.5 + 7k*3 = 73
2b
36.5k=73
k=2
number of $0.5 stamps 2*4 =8 pieces
