1.Let the amount of A gets be $x,B gets $2x, C gets $3x
x+2x+3x=72
x=12

Therefore,A gets $12, B gets $24, C gets $36.

2.Let B be x years old, A be 2x years old, C be 2x years old
2x+x+2x=65
x=13

Therefore, B is 13 years old. So A is 26 years old.

1)
A sum of $72 is divided among A,B and C.The amount that A gets is1/2 of B and 1/3 of C.How much does each of them get?

Let A is $x (the base).
Therefore,
A=$x
B=$2x
C=$3x

Then,
x+2x+3x=72
6x=72
x=12

So,
A=$X
$x=$12

However,
A gets $12
B gets $24
C gets $36.

2)
A is twice as old as B and B is half as old C.If the sum of their ages is 65 years,how old is A?

First,
Let B is the base.
A=2B
C=2B(B=C/2)
A=C

Then,
2B+2B+B=65
5B=65
B=13

So,
A=2B
B=B
C=2B

However,
A is 26 years old.
B is 13 years old.
C is 26 years old.

I hope it can help you.
