the ratio of their investments:
$25000:$50000:$75000
=1:2:3

A receives:
$54000*1/(1+2+3)
=54000*1/6
=$9000

B receives:
$54000*2/(1+2+3)
=54000*2/6
=54000*1/3
=$18000

C receives:
$54000*3/(1+2+3)
=54000*3/6
=54000*1/2
=$27000

(a) sum of their investments: $25000 + $50000 + $75000 = $150000
Ratio of A's investment: $25000/$150000 = 1/6
Ratio of B's investment: $50000/$150000 = 1/3
Ratio of C's investment: $75000/$150000 = 1/2

(b) Profit for A: 1/6 x $54000 = $9000
Profit for B: 1/3 x $54000 = $18000
Profit for A: 1/2 x $54000 = $27000

a)A:B:C 1:2:3
25000/25000: 50000/25000: 75000/25000
b)A 9000
B 18000
C 27000
