這句話源自於我們把戀愛叫 fall in love, 那結束一段戀情就叫 fall out of love (從愛情中掉出來), 有點幻想破滅的味道在裏面。但是要注意, 沒有人會說 I fall out with my boyfriend. 只能這樣說 I had a falling out with my boyfriend.
