1. The reactive metals (Na, K) should be stored under paraffin oil. As oil will not react with these metals, also, the oil can prevent air or water approach the metal and react with it. The most reactive one (Rb, Cs) should be kept in vacuum.

2. 'Explosive' should be displayed on the storage container containing the metal, because once the metal react with air or water, it is very explosive. (You should not attempt it in the school laboratory.)

3. Silicon is used to make computer chip, because it is a semi-metal. Semi-metal does not conduct electricity in room condition, but in suitable temperature (condition), it conducts electricity like metals.

4. Chlorine can be used to sterilize the swimming pool (by killing germs), manufacturing hydrochloric acid (HCl), for making chlorine bleach, or making plastics (PVC).
