Let the no of blue marbles be x, red be y and yellow be z

37=x+y+z...1
y=2x...2
z=x+5...3

put 2 and 3 into 1

37=x+(2x)+(x+5)
32=4x
x=8

y=2*8=16
z=8+5=13

therefore, the total no of blue marbles is 8, red marbles is 16 and yellow marbles is 13

let B be the number of blue marbles.
red marbles=2B
yellow marbles=5+B

B+2B+5+B=37
5+4B=37
4B=37-5
4B=32
B=8
∴there are 8 blue marbles

the number of red marbles=2(8)=16

the number of red marbles=5+8=13
