Finally,he sells it at a discount of 10% and make a profit of 238 .If the cost price of the digital camera is $x.

a)express the marked price of the digital camera in terms of x,

b)express the selling price of the digital camera in terms of x

c)find the value of x

a)The marked price of the digital camera
=(1+30%)x
=1.3x

b) The selling price of the digital came
= marked price * (1-discount rate)
=1.3x * (1-10%)
=1.17x

c)Profit = 238
selling price – cost = 238
1.17x – x = 238
0.17x = 238
x = 1400
The cost of the camera is $1400

The marked price=$(1+0.3)x

=$1.3x


The selling price = $1.3x (1-0.1)
=$1.17x


'.' The profit = $238

.'. 1.17x – x = 238
0.17x = 238
