basically if you go to drugstores in Tokyo (I assume you are going to Tokyo la) like Matsumoto Kiyoshi or whenever you see a sign 薬 it means it's a drugtore. Generally items like Sofina, Kose, Kanebo (t'estimo), Shiseido (marjolica, marquillage) are 30% cheaper because a lot of these stores will have sales and it will probably be 20% off the listed price on the package (if you go to department stores they will be selling you for the listed price, unless they have sales event la)

It's very nice to go to drugstore becaue you can sample the colors and the sales dont really bother you.... so you can take your time la~

But bare in mind that comestics are not included as tax free so even if you buy over 10000 yen you will still need to pay tax.

I was there last winter and I bought Marjolica (a line from Shisedo) mascara and at that time only some small stores in Mong Kok and Causeway Bay carries it. But it's about 30-40% cheaper in the drugstore in Japan. Please check a few stores and remember the price because even if it's the same store they may have different promotions. Also sometimes they will give away samples with your purchase, like lip gloss sample size...

for skin care lei, you can get DHC 40% cheaper than HK, because if you buy a set it's cheap and with discount (30% off) you will save a lot. Fancl is 30% cheaper but people usually go to the Fancl store to get them (in Ginza)
